Wither (2013)
The happy couple Ida and Albin go with some of their friends to cozy up in a small cabin deep in the Swedish forests.
Suddenly, a strange man who calls himself "Gunnar" shows up and tells a story that his mother told him as a child, a story told in his family since ancient times. Soon, the friends realize that it is not a fairy tale, it was a warning, but it's already too late. According to tradition broods an ancient evil under the earth, and the simple cellar door in the floor turns out to be a gate that opens for horrors that no one could have imagined.
The wither, or vittra in Swedish, is a type of nature spirit and mythological creature common in Nordic mythology. This film was made as a tribute to Sam Raimis Evild Dead from 1983 and The Wither has an incredible Evil Dead vibe that you’re going to love.
